‘Meet the Contractor’ supply chain events for construction of Crystal Rig IV Wind Farm

Local suppliers from across East Lothian and the Scottish Borders are invited to join local events this week to learn more about the opportunities to support the construction of Crystal Rig IV Wind Farm. The events, being held in Duns and Dunbar, will provide the opportunity to meet with the team from Fred. Olsen Renewables and primary contractor RJ McLeod.

Fred. Olsen Renewables commenced construction of Crystal Rig IV Wind Farm in July and are working with Scottish civil engineering contractor RJ McLeod to ensure that the local supply chain is involved in the delivery of the project. The events taking place this week provide a great opportunity for local businesses to speak to both Fred. Olsen Renewables and RJ McLeod, introduce their business and learn about how they can work within the supply chain for Crystal Rig IV Wind Farm.

The events are taking place on Thursday 19thSeptember:

10.00am -12.00pm, The Volunteer Hall, Lantongate, Duns TD11 3AF

2.00pm – 4.00pm, The Bleachingfield Centre, Countess Crescent, Dunbar, EH42 1DX

Local businesses are invited to register for the events and can do so by visiting www.crystalrigwindfarm.co.uk to find out more.

Opportunities exist for local businesses who specialise in a variety of industries, ranging from local food and drink to small plant hire businesses to civil contractors and crane operators.

Ottar Cato Olsen, Project Manager for Crystal Rig IV said:

“Events like this are a great way for us to get out and meet the local supply chain. We know there are lots of local businesses in the area with a variety of skill sets that come into the delivery of our projects, and having the time set aside to meet them is really valuable.

“Working with the local community, which very much includes the business community, is at the heart of how we deliver projects. I’m looking forward to seeing a number of local businesses helping us to deliver Crystal Rig IV.”

Lorcan Hayes, Contracts Manager for RJ McLeod said “We pride ourselves in working with the local supply chain, and the delivery of Crystal Rig IV offers us a great opportunity to meet and speak to potential new members of our supply chain.

Each time we run one of these events, I’m always inspired by the number of businesses that attend. There is a real strong desire in the local community to be a part of the projects that are being delivered locally. We look forward to meeting members of the East Lothian and Scottish Borders business communities and getting them involved.”

Everyone with an interest is invited to visit www.crystalrigwindfarm.co.uk to find out more.
