Press release —
Balnespick Wind Farm consultation continues with launch of new community podcast
Fred. Olsen Renewables has thanked local residents and stakeholders for attending the latest public consultation exhibitions for the proposed Balnespick Wind Farm, while also announcing the launch of a new project podcast designed to provide accessible updates and information about the project.
The exhibitions, held in Carrbridge and Strathdearn on Monday 11 May, attracted approximately [X] attendees, with feedback highlighting a number of key themes including [INSERT KEY THEMES].
The events formed part of the next stage of consultation on the proposed development and provided members of the public with an opportunity to view updated plans, visualisations and further environmental impact information, as well as speak directly with members of the project team and specialist advisors.
Alongside the exhibitions, Fred. Olsen Renewables has launched a new podcast series titled The Balnespick Briefing, now available on Spotify. It is believed to be the first bespoke onshore wind farm project podcast in the UK.
The podcast has been created to provide an additional way for local residents and stakeholders to access information about the project and hear directly from members of the project team and technical specialists involved in the development.
As part of the initiative, community members are also being invited to submit their own recorded voice note questions for inclusion in future episodes.
The project team will endeavour to address key themes and commonly raised questions through upcoming editions of the podcast.
Cris Thacker, Communications Manager at Fred. Olsen Renewables, said:
“We would like to thank everyone who attended the consultation exhibitions and took the time to speak with the team and provide feedback on the project.
“Meaningful engagement is an important part of the development process and we recognise that people access information in different ways.
“The launch of the Balnespick Briefing podcast is intended to provide another accessible and informal way for people to hear more about the project, understand the work being undertaken and submit questions directly to the team. It provides flexibility as people anywhere in the community can listen to the podcast at a time of their choosing. We hope this is particularly helpful to those who couldn’t get along to our exhibitions.”
The first episode of The Balnespick Briefing is available on Spotify at:
